Ben Crane won by a par Sim was a new dark horse

(Calif Sunday)In the Farmers Insurance Open, Ben Crane won the first place with 70 pars less 2 pars than double par. However Amy Mickelson shot 73 pars in the last turn and gained the 19th .
Something must been done on the fifth par 18th hole. Michael Sim and Ben Crane all did the same thing: lay up. But the difference generate soon, Ben Crane was leading by one.
Sim did have more than 240 yards to a pin over the water, but laying up destroyed his winning dream. Crane was not under the pressure while it put great pressure on Sim who spun a wedge into the hole nearly to see it go off the green.
As for Crane, his wedge nearly go off the green too and difficult to handle. But he had a par and got his first win sice 2005 in Milwaukee, a span of amoust 5000 holes after two putts. This was this third time to win. This would had been the best victory of his career and brought him to a high level (his other win was at the 2003 BellSouth Classic).
While for Sim, the beginner must learn from him. He wasn’t the Nationwide Tour Player of the Year last year for nothing. We must get used to see his name high on the leader board through the years.
